Rooney Ray Arts, Inc. was formed by Kathy Rooney and Ray Sokolowski in 2000 to satisfy the multiple art needs of corporations looking for dynamic visual branding. It is through this venture that they have created captivating art forms for inspiration and identity.

Kathy Rooney

As a cutting edge illustration and design technologist, Kathy Rooney's work is created completely on computer providing her corporate clients with a fluid communication and proofing process that has enabled outstanding, effective results.

Kathy’s broad spectrum background includes graphic design and project management along with her innovative illustration style. Her experience led her to partner with Ray Sokolowski to develop an alliance in 2000, Rooney & Ray Arts, Inc., which was formed to satisfy the multiple art needs of corporations. Ideal examples of such a product is Kathy’s 62 ft. x 13 ft. digital mural for The Pittsburgh Steelers Headquarters building, an illustrated floor plan map for Empire City Casino/Yonkers Raceway in NY, and an architectually detailed campus map for Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

Ray Sokolowski

Ray Sokolowski is a painter and sculptor whose work is on display at The Heinz History Center Sports Museum in Pittsburgh, at St. Bonaventure University in New York, at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa in Pennsylvania, and in numerous private collections, including Art Rooney, Jr.

Ray’s most significant sculptural achievement is a detailed cast replica of a vintage 23-member football team, “The 1923 Hope Harvey Football Club" which was the first team managed & owned by the legendary Art Rooney. The sculpture is now a part of the Joe Hardy Family Art Collection at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa. A second casting of the sculpture is on display at the Heinz History Center Sports Museum in Pittsburgh. Two of Ray's paintings depicting pilgrimage sites in Italy are included in the art collection at St. Bonaventure University.

Ray is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He honed his meticulous figurative sculpture and painting skills for 12 years as an exhibition artist & sculptor for F. W. Kestle Display & Sculpture Co. in Pittsburgh where he designed arresting retail displays for many distinguished venues. He also worked for 24 yrs. at The Carnegie Museum of Art as Installation Specialist where he contributed to the presentation of fine art works.
